Anti-Social Behaviour - Brighton

Anti Social Behaviour Workshop: A Tenant’s Perspective

This course is aimed at tenants who want to increase their knowledge and awareness of the rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants in relation to anti social behaviour. It is designed to provide an introduction to anti social behaviour and to provide a general overview of recent legislation, Government initiatives, tools, techniques and the role of social landlords in this topical area.

The course will start by looking at what is Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) and the myths and rumours around it.
We will look at the jargon used in this area and what legal remedies are available and when they can be used.
We will consider how effective partnerships that have been established are and which other agencies work on ASB.
The course will look at what the Respect Standard is and how it can be achieved.
We will look at what the approached to victim and witness support are and we will consider how perpetrator support can prevent further ASB.
ASB is an area where there are regular changes in legislation and best practice – the course will be updated in line with any changes up to one week before the course date.

This course cannot provide legal advice and we regret that individual ASB cases cannot be dealt with.

Your trainer for the day will be Tristan Wood. Tristan has extensive experience of social housing, having worked with both tenant co-operatives and housing associations. For 18 years he was a housing association director responsible for care and support services to vulnerable residents and a member of the association's senior executive team
