Working with Contractors - Wolverhampton

This course is suitable for tenants who want to find out about how contractors and tenants can work together to improve repairs and maintenance services and build the capacity of tenants to become equal partners in their dealings with contractors.

  • This course will look at existing and emerging good practice around the work tenants are increasingly doing with contractors
  • We will look at the process of drafting tender documentation, interviewing and appointing contractors.
  • The course will explore different ways of monitoring the performance of contractors, undertaking reviews and mystery shopping contractor services
  • We will look at developing new initiatives and services in partnership with contractors plus what needs to be done to build the capacity of tenants to become equal partners in their dealings with contractors.

The day will be participative and provide plenty of opportunities to debate issues and to consider the participants practical experiences.

Your trainer for the day is Andy Sage. Andy is a TAROE  (Tenants and Residents Organisations of England) Associate and has been working as a trainer since November 2003. He has also worked for Consult CIH (Chartered Institute of Housing), TPAS (Tenants Participation Advisory Service) and runs his own company Community Kickstart.  Andy is experienced in working with residents and contractors and recently developed “Step Change for Contractors”, a new and innovative change management package, for the social enterprise arm of TAROE.
